George Clinton and the Beanstalk in outerspace

So here are the two assignments given to us for this week by Scott Anderson and Robin Eley.

first assignment was to do a portrait of a conceptual portrait of a well known musician. I was given the letter "G", so I had fun thinking of was to mix UFO's, dreads, funk, and color. Heres the piece.

The second assignment was to Illustrate a scene from The Gift of the Magi, The Tortes and the Hair, or Jack and the Beanstalk. I chose Jack and had fun with the drawing. When it came down to media though, it was an experiment mixing graphite, acrylic, gauche, oil, colored pencil, and ink, but it was a fun experiment. Anyways, Heres the piece.the Academy is almost over and our last assignment is already underway. Ill update with that final piece this weekend.

thanks for reading

Matt, I love the beanstalk and all the new stuff. I did a little experimenting on my own.. and came up with this:

That beanstalk is glorious. I feel like I could climb it. Did you ever think of illustrating children's books?
